The classrooms on the first floor of Sankey Hall are not ideal for either the run or hide responses. If the gunman has entered the building and is moving in the direction of the classroom, the only option is to make a stand and fight. Attempt to stay out of the shooter’s line of sight, prepared to ambush the shooter as they open the door to the classroom.

Do not hide behind this podium. It will limit your movement and give the shooter an advantage.

Do not attempt to escape through these windows or any of the windows on the first floor of Sankey Hall. The two-paned windows do not have an opening mechanism, and attempting to break them will alert the shooter to your location.

When preparing to ambush the shooter, try to keep the element of surprise by avoiding being seen through this glass wall.
